NFL Betting – Teams Staying Under the Win Totals

by BetUS.com

NFL Teams Win Totals - NFL Odds

We have looked at three teams likely to go over what the NFL odds makers predicted for win totals and this time we’ll look at three teams that won’t live up to the lofty expectations fans and sports pundits are placing on them.

Two teams are expected to win their division, while the third is expected to have a down season, but things are grimmer then they appear.

- San Diego Chargers – Over 10½ Wins -145

The San Diego Chargers have an incredible quarterback and some fantastic talent surrounding him but there is a lot of noise out of the Chargers camp that has at least one if not two of their top players holding out.

Hold outs aren’t good for anyone, as the teams are distracted and the players never perform well after missing camp, so it’s not good to hear that Vincent Jackson and Marcus McNeill are holding out and star defensive end Shawne Merriman is going to join them on the sidelines.

Aside from the talent, the Chargers are putting heavy expectations on Ryan Mathews to replace LaDainian Tomlinson, and it’s hard to replace a legend.

It will take a herculean effort by Mathews to make fans forget about the loss of Tomlinson…or the holdouts of Jackson, McNeill and Merriman.

- Pittsburgh Steelers - Over 8½ Wins -125

The league finally acted after a second woman came forward with sexual misconduct allegations against Ben Roethlisberger by suspending him six games, but it was reduced to four after the quarterback followed league guidelines for leniency.

The Steelers have two tough games in the first four, Atlanta and Baltimore, one toss up in Tennessee and a gimme in Tampa Bay.

Unless Byron Leftwich or Dennis Dixon put up phenomenal numbers, the Steelers are likely looking at a 1 and 3 hole to begin the season.

That’s a big hole to fall into when the Bengals and the Ravens are both going to have good seasons.

The other aspect to consider is that LaMar Woodley is upset because the Steelers haven’t offered him a contract extension and with a looming lockout or strike, it’s doubtful that many teams are throwing around extra cash before they know what’s happening with the CBA.

Unhappy players don’t make for a productive team. 8-8 will be the best the Steelers can hope for this season.

- New York Jets - Over 9½ Wins -110

Most sports writers, especially those in New York are predicting the Jets will win the East and have become a trendy pick to make it to the Super Bowl.

Mark Sanchez had a nice season last year but defenses will prepare for him this season.

Yes, the Jets will have a hot pass defense with Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie at the corner spots and yes, the running game looks incredible with Shonn Greene, LaDainian Tomlinson and rookie Joe McKnight.

What is keeping me from crowning the Jets is that the AFC East has three legit teams capable of winning the title and the Dolphins and Patriots will be like crabs in a bucket, pulling the Jets down. Nine wins, but no more for the Jets this season.
